Adult dose
Use in adult men The recommended dose of this drug is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. For patients in whom tadalafil 10mg does not provide a sufficient effect, 20 mg may be tried. This drug may be administered starting at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once daily. Long-term safety following extended daily dosing has not been established, and because the effect of this drug usually lasts for more than one day, continuous daily administration of this drug is strongly discouraged. [See sections 1. Warnings and 12.1) Pharmacodynamic properties] Use in elderly men No dosage adjustments are required in elderly patients. Use in men with renal impairment No dosage adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. The maximum recommended dose in patients with severe renal impairment is 10mg. [See section 12.2) Pharmacokinetic properties]. Use in men with hepatic impairment The recommended dose of this product is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. Since clinical data on the safety of this product in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C) are limited, the physician should carefully assess the individual benefit/risk when prescribing it. There are no data on administration of doses higher than 10mg to patients with hepatic impairment. [See sections 3. Patients Requiring Caution in Administration and 12.2) Pharmacokinetic properties]. Use in men with diabetes No dosage adjustment is required in patients with diabetes.

Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and it is essential to confirm the underlying cause through a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination before use. Engaging in sexual activity can put a strain on the heart, therefore patients with cardiovascular diseases should consult with their doctor before use. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours, immediate medical attention should be sought, as delay in treatment can result in penile tissue damage or permanent erectile dysfunction. This medication must not be used by patients who are taking nitrate drugs (e.g., nitroglycerin) as it can cause dangerously low blood pressure. Patients who have had serious cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, angina, heart failure, and stroke recently are prohibited from taking this medication. Patients with congenital retinal disease or allergies to the ingredients of this medication are also prohibited from use. Combining this medication with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to unverified safety. Patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction need dosage adjustments and should consult their doctor because the risk of side effects may increase when used with certain medications. This medication may cause side effects such as headache, dyspepsia, back pain, muscle pain, flushing, and others, most of which are mild, but patients should consult medical personnel if symptoms are severe. Serious side effects have been reported, such as cardiovascular issues, loss of vision or hearing, and if these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and visit a hospital. Caution is necessary when taking with alcohol due to the potential for low blood pressure and dizziness. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as children and adolescents, should not use this medication. There are no special effects on driving or operating machinery, but there may be dizziness in some individuals that requires caution. In the case of overdose, immediate medical assistance is required, and blood dialysis is not effective for the removal of this medication. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and in its original packaging for safety.
