Precautions

This medication is for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and it is essential to undergo a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination before use. Sexual activity can put a strain on the heart, so patients with cardiovascular disease should use it cautiously after consulting their doctor. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical assistance should be sought, as untreated conditions can lead to penile tissue damage and permanent loss of erectile function. This medication should never be taken with nitrate medications or NO donors, as it can cause dangerously low blood pressure. Patients who have recent cardiovascular issues or uncontrolled hypertension, hypotension, arrhythmias, or a history of stroke should not use this medication. Patients with hereditary retinal disorders or who are allergic to any ingredient of this medication should also refrain from use. It is not recommended to use this medication with other erectile dysfunction treatments due to unproven safety. Patients with severely impaired renal or liver function should use this medication with caution and be aware that co-administration with certain drugs, such as alpha-blockers, may lead to symptoms of low blood pressure. Common side effects during treatment may include headaches, dyspepsia, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and congestion, which are usually mild or temporary. Serious side effects may include heart-related abnormalities, vision or hearing loss, and prolonged erections, and immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary if these symptoms occur. This medication is not indicated for use in women or children, and its safety in pregnant women has not been established. Caution should be exercised when taking this medication with alcohol, as it can enhance blood pressure lowering and dizziness. In case of overdose, standard treatment should be administered, and blood dialysis does not significantly affect the excretion of this medication. Store this medication out of reach of children and keep it in its original packaging. This medication is effective only when sexual stimulation occurs and can be taken without regard to meals. Effects begin to appear after approximately 16 minutes and can help maintain an erection for up to 36 hours.
