Telmisartan and amlodipine are each medications used to lower blood pressure. This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure control is insufficient with monotherapy of either of these two drugs. In other words, when basic blood pressure management is difficult, other treatment options will be considered.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning) if possible.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. If pregnancy is planned or confirmed, the administration of this medication should be discontinued as soon as possible. This medication should not be administered to women who are allergic to certain components, pregnant or nursing women, or patients with severely impaired liver or heart function. Additionally, it should not be used by patients with cholestatic disease, severe hypotension, or unstable conditions after heart failure or acute myocardial infarction. Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with impaired liver or kidney function, and elderly patients should also use it with care.
