If cilostazol monotherapy is not sufficiently effective, there is an alternative therapy that combines cilostazol and ginkgo leaf extract to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and cold sensation due to chronic arterial occlusion. Additionally, this combination therapy can be used to prevent recurrence after the onset of cerebral infarction (excluding cardiac cerebral embolism). This combination therapy helps enhance the therapeutic effect by complementing the blood circulation improvement effects of each drug. Therefore, the combination of cilostazol and ginkgo leaf extract is a useful treatment method to improve symptoms and prevent recurrence in patients with reduced vascular function.

Precautions

This drug is a medication that improves blood circulation and inhibits platelet aggregation, primarily used for the prevention of thrombosis. When taken, heart rate may increase, possibly leading to angina-like chest pain symptoms, so caution is needed. It should not be administered to patients who are at high risk of bleeding, those who have recently had a hemorrhagic stroke, peptic ulcers, or have undergone surgery. Patients with heart failure, those who have had allergic reactions to this medication, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid taking it as well. Patients taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, thrombolytic agents, etc., should use it cautiously and consult a physician due to the high risk of bleeding. This drug should be administered with caution to patients with decreased liver and kidney function, diabetic patients, and hypertensive patients. If symptoms of bleeding, abnormal heart symptoms, or liver function abnormalities occur during use, consult a physician immediately. Side effects such as dizziness, headaches, indigestion, and skin rashes may occur, and caution is advised while driving or operating machinery. This medication is metabolized by specific enzymes and may interact with other medications, so consult a physician before combining it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid taking it, and breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment. Children and the elderly may require dosage adjustments due to differences in body function. In case of overdose, symptoms such as severe headache, diarrhea, low blood pressure, and tachycardia may occur, and medical attention should be sought immediately. When storing, avoid direct sunlight and keep in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children.
