How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Instill 1 drop of this drug into each eye twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart. If this drug is used at the same time as artificial tears, administer them 15 minutes apart. Discard any remaining solution and the container after use.

Precautions

This medication has not been sufficiently studied in patients with a history of herpetic keratitis, hence caution is required. The effect of increased tear production is not observed in patients using topical anti-inflammatory agents or punctal plugs. This medication should not be used in patients with active ocular infections or known or suspected hypersensitivity to its components. The most common side effect when using this medication is a stinging sensation in the eyes, and some patients may experience conjunctival hyperemia, eye discharge, tearing, eye pain, foreign body sensation, itching, pain, visual disturbances, etc. Rarely, serious side effects, such as eye swelling, severe allergic reactions, ocular surface damage, and hives have been reported, so immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is required if any abnormal symptoms occur. This medication contains phosphates and may cause corneal calcification in patients with severe corneal damage, so caution is necessary. This medication is for ophthalmic use only; care should be taken to prevent the container from coming into direct contact with the eyes to avoid injury. Safety during pregnancy or lactation has not been established, so it should be used with caution after consulting a physician. Safety and efficacy in children under 16 years of age have not yet been adequately confirmed. The remaining solution and container should be discarded immediately after opening. Keep the container tip clean and ensure it does not come into contact with eyes or other surfaces. If wearing contact lenses, the lenses should be removed before application and can be reinserted 15 minutes after administration. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and while some tendency for cancer occurrence has been noted in animal studies related to long-term oral administration, there is a significant difference compared to the local application dose. Overall, it is important to recognize the possibility of side effects when using this medication and to immediately consult a professional if any unusual symptoms appear.
