Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
The combination of amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil is used in patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with existing treatment. This medication helps effectively lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications. Amlodipine dilates blood vessels to lower blood pressure, while olmesartan medoxomil prevents vessel constriction, synergizing blood pressure control. This combination therapy is more effective than single-agent therapy in controlling blood pressure. It is important for patients to take the medication consistently as prescribed and to periodically monitor blood pressure changes. This combination is effectively used for the treatment of essential hypertension.
This medication is taken once daily, one tablet, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosing is as follows: - 5/20/12.5 mg: given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/20 mg combination therapy. - 5/40/12.5 mg: given when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/40 mg.

During the use of this medication, it is advisable to regularly check electrolyte levels and renal function through blood tests; if any unusual symptoms occur, inform healthcare professionals immediately. Photosensitivity may occur, so avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet rays. If any skin rash or itching develops, discontinue use and seek advice.
