Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease
This medication is used for the treatment of patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.
This medication is administrated orally once a day and should be taken at the same time every day. If necessary, it can be taken twice a day. Dosage Increase: The maximum daily dosage is 20 mg, and to minimize the risk of adverse reactions, increments of 5 mg should be made weekly over the first 3 weeks. First week (Day 1-7): 5 mg once daily Second week (Day 8-14): 10 mg once daily Third week (Day 15-21):
This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients. It is also safe not to administer it to patients with severely impaired liver function or significantly reduced kidney function. Care should be taken when using in patients with a history of seizures or convulsions, and those at high risk of seizures should also be cautious. Co-administration with other medications that have similar effects may increase central nervous system side effects, so it should be avoided. Patients with changes in urine acidity or those who have had recent heart disease should also use it cautiously. Side effects such as dizziness, headaches, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur during treatment, and any unusual symptoms should be reported. It can interact with several medications, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform a physician or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use it only after consulting a physician, and breastfeeding women should preferably discontinue breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children or adolescents under 18 years of age, so it should not be used in this population. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as confusion, drowsiness, hallucinations, and seizures may occur, so contact a medical facility immediately, and special antidotes are not available, so symptomatic treatment is necessary. This medication can affect the patient's reaction speed, so precautions should be taken when driving or operating machinery. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers for safety.
