This medication may pose a risk of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with heart disease or electrolyte imbalances, and an electrocardiogram may be necessary. Furthermore, this medication may interact with various drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Special caution is warranted when taken with antibiotics, antidepressants, and antiarrhythmic drugs. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this medication, and if absolutely necessary, should follow the physician's guidance. Safety in children has not been established, so this medication is not used in pediatric patients.
