Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive reflux esophagitis, symptoms), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers, relief of upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, prevention of rebleeding from gastric ulcers and maintenance therapy effects.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive reflux esophagitis, as well as to prevent the recurrence of esophagitis. It is effective in treating and preventing recurrence of peptic ulcers and duodenal ulcers in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection. It also helps relieve upper gastrointestinal pain caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and treat and prevent gastric ulcers. It is used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and is also employed in maintenance therapy after intravenous administration to prevent rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. It is broadly effective for various gastrointestinal diseases and symptoms.
This medication should be swallowed whole with liquid, not chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - If esophagitis is unresolved or symptoms persist, an additional 4 weeks of treatment - Long-term maintenance therapy for prevention of recurrence: 20 mg once daily - Treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 1 time per day
Adolescents aged 12 years and older - Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - If esophagitis is unresolved or symptoms persist, 4 more weeks of treatment.
This drug should not be administered to those who are hypersensitive to certain ingredients or allergic to benzimidazole derivatives. Additionally, it is contraindicated for individuals with hypersensitivity to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics, those taking specific heart-related medications, nursing mothers, individuals with a history of myocardial infarction, and those currently using certain antiviral medications. This medication contains the dye Yellow No. 5, so those allergic to this ingredient should take it with caution. Various side effects such as blood disorders, allergic reactions, electrolyte imbalances, neurological symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms, liver function abnormalities, and skin rashes can occur during use; if symptoms appear, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is advised. Regular check-ups are necessary for long-term use, and attention must be paid to drug interactions. Especially when used alongside other drugs, the risk of side effects may increase due to changes in blood concentration, so consulting with a physician is necessary. During pregnancy, safety is not fully confirmed, so caution is advised; nursing mothers should avoid taking this medication. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment should be received according to symptoms, and the drug should be stored out of reach of children.
Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylactic reactions/shock, severe allergic reactions, angioedema, urticaria, progressing mucocutaneous reaction syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reactions with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome) accompanied by fever, severe rashes, blisters, skin peeling, or oral/ocular mucosal pain.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture, and it is recommended to keep it at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage helps maintain the drug's effectiveness for an extended period.
