How to take

Adult dose

In adults, start treatment with naftopidil at 25mg once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and administer orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted as appropriate according to symptoms, but the maximum daily dose is 75mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients or have genetic issues such as lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with poor liver function, severe heart disease, or cerebrovascular disorders, the elderly, and those taking certain antihypertensive medications or PDE5 inhibitors should use this drug with caution. When taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or hypotension may occur, so careful monitoring is required. If serious abnormal symptoms occur, such as liver dysfunction or loss of consciousness, discontinuation of the drug and medical treatment should be sought immediately. In case of overdose, blood pressure may become excessively low, so the prescribed dosage should be strictly adhered to. Due to orthostatic hypotension, dizziness may occur with sudden changes in posture, so it is advisable to move slowly. During the initial dosage or when dosage is suddenly increased, special attention should be paid to dizziness and lightheadedness, and it is safer to avoid dangerous tasks or driving. Prior to taking this medication, it is crucial to inform your physician if you are currently taking other antihypertensive medications, as dosage adjustments may be necessary if blood pressure becomes too low. This medication is for symptomatic relief rather than a fundamental cure, so if it is ineffective, alternative treatment methods should be considered. Caution should be taken when taking diuretics or antihypertensive agents together, as they may lower blood pressure further. The elderly should be monitored closely while taking this medication as decreased liver function may prolong the drug's stay in the body. It should be stored out of reach of children, and the tablets should be swallowed directly from the packaging to prevent esophageal injury. Patients with a history of similar medications may experience side effects like intraoperative miosis, so they should inform healthcare professionals accordingly.
