This medication is used for painful muscle spasms due to musculoskeletal disorders, such as shoulder-hand syndrome, adhesive capsulitis, and low back pain. Additionally, it is effective in treating spastic paralysis due to neurological disorders, helping with various conditions including cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, postoperative sequelae, trauma sequelae, and cerebral palsy. This medication alleviates muscle stiffness, improving the patient's movement and reducing pain, thus being widely used for several diseases associated with muscle stiffness and pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Eperisone hydrochloride as 50mg orally three times a day after meals. The dosage may be adjusted based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a history of allergic reactions to this drug or those with severe myasthenia gravis. Furthermore, this medication contains lactose and should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance, galactose intolerance, hereditary lactose enzyme deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the medication or those with poor liver function should use this drug with caution, as there is a risk of liver function deterioration. Severe side effects such as shock, liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction, and anemia may occur while taking this medication, so symptoms should be carefully monitored. Various side effects such as skin rash or itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, gastrointestinal disturbances, urinary retention, weakness, and dizziness may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is necessary. Severe skin adverse reactions, such as toxic epidermal necrolysis and mucocutaneous-ocular syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), may occur; if symptoms such as fever, rash, blisters, eye redness, or stomatitis occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and treatment sought. Symptoms like weakness, instability, or drowsiness may occur, and if such symptoms arise, it may be necessary to reduce or discontinue the dosage.
