This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy using amlodipine or telmisartan alone. It helps manage blood pressure reliably to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water, regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with renal impairment, those with severe renal impairment should start treatment at a low dose and gradually increase it, with periodic monitoring of serum potassium and creatinine levels. For patients with liver impairment, the daily dosage of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg.

Child dose

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Therefore, women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant must avoid taking it. This medication is contraindicated in patients with certain diseases or conditions. For example, individuals who are allergic to the ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severely impaired liver or heart function, and patients with low blood pressure should not take this medication. Careful monitoring and adjustment by a physician are necessary when taking this medication for those with certain diseases such as liver disease, gastrointestinal diseases, kidney diseases, heart valve diseases, or primary aldosteronism. Common side effects like dizziness and peripheral edema may occur, but serious side effects can also appear. If abnormal symptoms arise, consult a healthcare provider immediately. During treatment, there may be symptoms of hypotension due to excessively low blood pressure. If such symptoms occur, lying down and resting immediately is advised, and fluid therapy may be needed. This medication can increase blood potassium levels. Therefore, patients at risk for hyperkalemia should have regular blood tests to monitor potassium levels. Patients with renal impairment should regularly monitor renal function and electrolyte status while taking this medication, and safety in kidney transplant patients has not been established. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents or medications, so inform your physician or pharmacist of any other medications you are taking. Especially, consumption of grapefruit juice can enhance the effects of this medication, so it is advisable to avoid grapefruit juice. This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness when driving or operating machinery, so caution is needed. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and arrhythmias may occur, so immediate medical attention is required, and this medication is not removed by hemodialysis. Store this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container.
