Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Using this medication during pregnancy may increase the risk of reduced lung development, skeletal malformations in the fetus, and hypotension or renal failure in the newborn. This drug should not be given to certain patients, including those allergic to this medication or its components, pregnant women or women of childbearing potential, patients with severe liver disease, and those with hereditary angioedema. Additionally, patients with diabetes or moderate to severe renal impairment should avoid co-administration of this medication with certain other drugs. Elderly patients, patients with hyperkalemia, those with impaired liver function, and patients with valvular heart disease should use this medication cautiously, ensuring that blood pressure does not drop too low. This medication may cause side effects such as muscle cramps, back pain, dizziness, upper respiratory infection, and nasal congestion; serious adverse reactions such as angioedema or liver function abnormalities and renal failure have also been reported. Particularly, potassium levels may increase, so care should be taken not to take it with potassium supplements or potassium-containing medicines. This medication may affect liver and kidney function, so patients with liver or kidney diseases may need to adjust dosage or discontinue use as directed by their physician. Regular checking of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels during use is important and immediate consultation with healthcare providers is necessary if symptoms worsen or abnormal reactions occur. Furthermore, this medication may cause dizziness or fainting due to excessive blood pressure reduction, so caution should be exercised during hazardous activities such as high-altitude work or driving. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult a physician before taking this medication, and nursing mothers are advised to avoid taking this medication. In case of overdose, hypotension and changes in heart rate may occur, so it is important to avoid exceeding the prescribed dose and to visit the hospital immediately if any abnormal symptoms arise.
