How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Start with 25 mg of naftopidil once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75 mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and take orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms, but the maximum daily dose is 75 mg.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients who are allergic to any of its components. It contains lactose; hence it should not be administered to patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with poor liver function should be cautious as this medication may increase blood concentration. In patients with severe heart or cerebrovascular issues, use is limited, and caution is warranted. Elderly patients may have reduced liver function and slower drug excretion, increasing the risk of elevated blood concentration. Patients taking PDE5 inhibitors should be careful, as the blood pressure-lowering effect may increase if taken together. Caution is also necessary for patients with orthostatic hypotension. As side effects may include dizziness, vertigo, hypotension, and gastrointestinal discomfort, patients should be closely monitored. If serious adverse symptoms, such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, syncope, or loss of consciousness, occur, the use of this medication should be immediately discontinued, and a healthcare professional should be consulted. In cases of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively, so the prescribed dosage should be adhered to. Patients may experience orthostatic hypotension, so care should be taken during positional changes, such as standing up slowly. Extreme caution is advised when engaging in hazardous activities, like driving or working at heights, especially during the initial phase of treatment or when the dosage is suddenly increased. Patients on other antihypertensive medications should carefully monitor blood pressure changes and adjust dosage if necessary. This medication does not treat the underlying cause but alleviates symptoms; therefore, if ineffective, alternative therapies should be considered. Keep this medication out of reach of children and ensure it is taken out of its packaging before administration. Swallowing it with the packaging may cause esophageal injury, so care must be taken. Elderly individuals may show increased side effects due to impaired liver function, so they should be monitored closely and used with caution.
