Adult dose

Adults: Start with 25 mg of naftopidil once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75 mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and take orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms, but the maximum daily dose is 75 mg.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to its components. Additionally, because it contains lactose, those with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients with impaired liver function should use this medication with caution as it may increase its blood concentration. Patients with significant heart disease or cerebrovascular disorders should use this drug cautiously due to limited experience with its use. Elderly patients are at a higher risk of reduced liver function, which may delay drug elimination, so they should be careful. Patients taking PDE5 inhibitors that lower blood pressure should be cautious when using this drug together, as it may cause blood pressure to drop too low. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience worsening symptoms while taking this medication. Taking this drug may result in side effects such as dizziness, vertigo, hypotension, and gastrointestinal discomfort; therefore, caution is advised. If serious adverse effects such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, or loss of consciousness occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Overdose may lead to dangerously low blood pressure, so it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage. At the beginning of treatment or when the dosage is suddenly increased, symptoms such as dizziness may appear; therefore, caution should be exercised when working from heights or driving. If taking blood pressure-lowering medication concurrently, dose adjustments should be made in consultation with a doctor to avoid excessively low blood pressure. This medication is for symptom relief rather than cause treatment, and if ineffective, other treatment options should be considered. When taken with diuretics or blood pressure-lowering agents, blood pressure-lowering effects may be enhanced, necessitating dose adjustment and monitoring. Elderly patients should be monitored carefully for this reason and use the medication cautiously. Store out of reach of children and ensure that they are guided to take it after removing it from the packaging. Swallowing the packaging whole may damage the esophageal mucosa, so caution is necessary. If there has been prior experience with similar medications or blood vessel disorders, inform the healthcare professional, as side effects may occur. During surgery, ocular adverse effects associated with this drug may appear, so it is important to inform the healthcare professional about its use prior to surgery.
