This medication is used to alleviate symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and belching caused by excessive gastric acid associated with gastrointestinal diseases like gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastritis. It neutralizes excessive gastric acid through its antacid action and protects the gastric mucosa, helping to alleviate symptoms. Therefore, it plays a role in effectively reducing digestive discomfort.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children aged 12 and older: Take 1 g of Almagate 3 times a day, orally chewed 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose can be taken before bedtime if needed.

Child dose

Children aged 12 and older: Take 1 g of Almagate 3 times a day, orally chewed 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose can be taken before bedtime if needed.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this medication or any of its components. Patients with Alzheimer's disease, hemorrhoids, fluid retention, gestational hypertension, diarrhea, and individuals who have not been diagnosed with gastrointestinal bleeding should also avoid this medication. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication. It is advisable not to take this medication together with tetracycline antibiotics, as it may interfere with the absorption of the antibiotic. If you are taking other medications, consult with a doctor or pharmacist as this medication may affect the absorption or excretion of other drugs. In particular, it is recommended to have an interval of 2-3 hours when taking this medication with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ulcer medications, digoxin, certain antibiotics, or iron supplements. Patients with impaired kidney function should be cautious with this medication as magnesium or aluminum included may accumulate in the body. Also, individuals who are physically weak, have a low intake of food, have digestive absorption disorders, or are elderly should consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding or have symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding should also consult with a healthcare provider before taking this medication. If constipation or diarrhea occurs during use, or if symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a professional. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and when given to children, supervision by an adult is necessary. When storing, keep it out of the reach of children, store it in its original container, and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
