How to take

Adult dose

This medication can be taken regardless of meals, but it is recommended to take it at the same time every day. 1. Hypertension - The recommended initial and maintenance dose is 50 mg of losartan potassium taken orally once daily. - If the therapeutic effect is insufficient, the dose can be divided and taken twice daily or increased up to 100 mg taken once daily. 2. Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be stopped immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with an allergy to this medication, those who are pregnant, patients with severely impaired liver function, certain genetic disorders, and patients with specific kidney diseases. Elderly patients, those with elevated blood potassium levels, mildly impaired liver function, patients with heart valve disease, and patients with cardiovascular disease should use this medication cautiously, as there is a risk of excessive blood pressure drop. During the use of this medication, side effects such as dizziness, muscle cramps, lower back pain, cough, and dyspepsia may occur, and serious allergic reactions, liver function abnormalities, and renal failure may rarely occur, so any abnormal symptoms should be reported to a physician immediately. Patients with impaired liver function may have elevated blood concentrations of this medication, so dosage adjustments may be needed, and patients with impaired kidney function should regularly monitor kidney status and electrolyte levels through blood tests. This medication may cause dangerously elevated blood potassium levels when taken with other antihypertensive agents, certain diuretics, and potassium supplements, so it is essential to consult a physician when used in combination with these drugs. In addition, grapefruit juice should be avoided while taking this medication, and it is advisable not to take it within 24 hours before surgery. It is recommended that breastfeeding be discontinued when taking this medication, and it should not be used in children under 6 years old or in children with severely impaired kidney function. Finally, during the use of this medication, dizziness or fainting due to blood pressure drop may occur, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery and other hazardous activities.
