This medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension in cases where blood pressure is not adequately controlled by amlodipine or telmisartan monotherapy. It effectively lowers blood pressure, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, and helps maintain stable blood pressure management.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) if possible. For patients with renal impairment, no dosage adjustment is required for mild to moderate cases, but severe renal impairment patients should start treatment at a lower dose and gradually increase. For patients with hepatic impairment, the daily dose of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg.

Precautions

This medication should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can pose serious risks to the fetus and newborn. Individuals with allergies to the ingredients of this medication or similar drugs, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and patients with severe liver impairment or cholestatic disease should not use this medication. Patients with serious heart or blood pressure issues, particularly severe hypotension or in a state of shock, should also refrain from taking this medication. Patients with primary aldosteronism or certain heart valve diseases, those with impaired liver function, and patients with gastrointestinal disorders should use this medication with special caution. Patients with renal impairment or the elderly should also take this medication cautiously, monitoring blood pressure and kidney function periodically. The most common side effects of this medication are dizziness and peripheral edema, while fainting or heart-related abnormal symptoms may rarely occur. This medication should not be used during pregnancy; if pregnancy is confirmed, treatment should be stopped immediately and switched to a safe alternative. Hypotension may occur, so particularly those who are dehydrated or hyponatremic should manage their condition well before beginning treatment. Since there is a risk of increased potassium levels in the blood, caution is needed when taking potassium supplements or potassium-containing drugs concurrently. This medication can affect renal function, so patients with renal impairment should regularly have blood tests. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. When taken with other medications, interactions may occur, so consult a doctor or pharmacist, especially when taking blood pressure medications, diuretics, potassium supplements, antibiotics, or analgesics. In case of overdose, hypotension, dizziness, and heart rhythm abnormalities may occur. Seek appropriate medical treatment immediately. This medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age, as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. Keep this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container.

Urticaria, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, mouth/eye mucosa pain, severe skin reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory distress accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), extreme lethargy, hepatic abnormalities (jaundice), sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache.
