The dosage of this medication is determined based on the maximum recommended doses of each ingredient, which are linagliptin 2.5 mg and metformin 1000 mg, not exceeding two doses per day, considering each patient's current treatment regimen, efficacy, and tolerability. This medication is administered twice daily with meals. 1. For patients not currently treated with metformin: Take this medication 2.5/500 mg, twice daily, one tablet per dose, and for 2.5/
This medication is primarily used for blood sugar control. It contains two main ingredients, one of which is predominantly excreted by the kidneys, so patients with decreased kidney function should not take this medication. Lactic acidosis, a serious side effect, may occur rarely, as it can accumulate excessively in the body and become severe, so caution is needed. This medication should not be administered to individuals with allergic reactions to it or with certain heart, liver, or kidney diseases. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are recommended not to use this medication, and it is not recommended for children and adolescents. During the use of this medication, symptoms of hypoglycemia may appear, so blood sugar levels should be closely monitored, especially when used in conjunction with other hypoglycemic agents. In certain situations such as surgeries or radiological tests, it may be necessary to temporarily discontinue this medication, and safety should be confirmed through kidney function tests before resuming use. This medication may cause some gastrointestinal disturbances, headaches, fatigue, rashes, and in rare cases, acute pancreatitis or skin conditions; therefore, any abnormal symptoms should be discussed with a physician immediately. Additionally, this medication may interact with other medications, so if you are taking other drugs, be sure to inform your healthcare provider.
