Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension

  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

In patients with essential hypertension, it can be difficult to control blood pressure with amlodipine or valsartan alone. In such cases, co-administration of both medications can effectively lower blood pressure. Amlodipine dilates blood vessels to lower blood pressure, while valsartan helps control it by inhibiting vascular contraction. This combination therapy contributes to more stable blood pressure management and reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications. Therefore, the combination of amlodipine and valsartan is used in the treatment of essential hypertension.
