Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Do not take this medication if you have allergies to any of its ingredients, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have severe liver disease or aortic stenosis. Caution is required for patients with low body water or sodium, as initial dosage may result in excessively low blood pressure, necessitating appropriate management if blood pressure drops too low. Due to the vasodilatory effect, this medication should be used cautiously in patients with aortic stenosis, severe obstructive coronary artery disease, or heart failure. Patients with compromised kidney function may need regular kidney function tests, as this medication could affect renal function. Patients with severe liver impairment should also use this medication with caution, as it may remain in the liver for an extended period. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headaches, blood pressure drops, swelling, and dyspepsia may occur, and any unusual symptoms should be discussed with healthcare professionals. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs or specific medications, so it is essential to inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking. Particularly, concurrent use with grapefruit juice can lead to excessive blood pressure-lowering effects, hence should be avoided. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is recommended to switch to another antihypertensive medication with proven safety instead of using this one. Breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking this medication, as it may be passed to breast milk and affect the baby. Children under 18 years of age should not use this medication as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients should start with lower doses, considering diminished kidney and liver function, and be monitored for potentially sensitive reactions. In cases of overdose, blood pressure may drop sharply, so seek immediate medical attention if symptoms occur. This medication should be stored away from moisture, heat, and light in a place out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided.
