This medication helps relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and tearing caused by colds or allergic and vasomotor rhinitis. It also temporarily alleviates nasal congestion caused by sinusitis. Therefore, it is used for the improvement of these symptoms.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Children aged 12 years and older and adults: Take 10ml every 4 hours. Do not exceed 60ml in 24 hours. Follow the doctor's guidance.

Children's dosage

Children aged 6 to under 12 years: Take 5ml every 4 hours. Do not exceed 30ml in 24 hours. Children aged 2 to under 6 years: Follow the doctor's guidance.

Precautions

This medication contains an amine-based sympathomimetic and antihistamine, and should not be taken by individuals allergic to its components. It is also advisable for persons with special constitutions or nursing women to refrain from using this medication. Patients with severe hypertension or coronary artery disease, and those taking certain neurological drugs should avoid this medication. Patients with glaucoma, urinary retention, peptic ulcer, asthma, pulmonary diseases, etc., should also refrain from taking this medication. Caution is necessary if this medication is taken with sedatives or anxiolytics as interactions may occur. Patients with chronic bronchitis, heart disease, thyroid issues, diabetes, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, and other specific conditions should not take this medication without a doctor's guidance. Side effects may include fear, anxiety, tremors, weakness, difficulty in breathing, difficulty in urination, insomnia, hallucinations, convulsions, arrhythmias, dizziness, and hypotension. Individuals sensitive to phenylephrine may experience increased heart rate, headache, dizziness, or nausea, but it is safe within the proper dosage. Those sensitive to antihistamines may experience drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea, headache, nervousness, frequent urination, chest pain, visual disturbances, and difficulty in urination. This medication can induce drowsiness; thus, consuming it with alcohol or sedatives may intensify the drowsiness. Children may become excited instead of sedated when taking this medication, so caution is advised. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days or if there is a high fever, consult a doctor immediately. Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this medication, and refrain from activities requiring concentration, such as driving or operating machinery. Be careful not to exceed the prescribed dosage, and consult a doctor immediately in case of overdose. If symptoms like dizziness, insomnia, or nervousness occur after taking this medication, discontinue use and consult a doctor. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. Do not transfer the medication to another container as this may lead to misuse or deterioration in quality; keep it in the original container.
