This medication is used to improve blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy using amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken once daily, one tablet, with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5mg or olmesartan medoxomil 20mg monotherapy. - 10/20mg: Administered for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with olmesartan medoxomil 20mg.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause severe harm to the fetus if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to it, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with severe liver disease or aortic stenosis, patients undergoing renal dialysis, patients in shock, or patients with certain kidney diseases or diabetes. In patients who are depleted of fluids or salt, hypotension may occur, so they should be monitored closely while taking this medication. Vasodilation can lead to hypotension, so patients with heart or vascular diseases should take care. In heart failure patients or those with decreased kidney function, there is a risk of worsening kidney function or hypotension, so it should be used with caution. Patients with poor liver function should be careful as the drug may remain in the body for a longer time. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, digestive discomfort, etc., may occur, so consult a doctor if there are any abnormal symptoms. Taking this medication during pregnancy may cause serious problems for the fetus, so those planning to become pregnant or who are pregnant should definitely consult a doctor. In breastfeeding women, this medication can be transmitted through breast milk and may affect the infant, so it is recommended to either temporarily stop breastfeeding or discontinue the medication. For children under 18 years of age, the safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been established, and its use is not recommended. Elderly patients should start at a low dose due to decreased kidney and liver function, and should take it with caution. In case of overdose, symptoms of hypotension and effects from vascular dilation may occur, and if symptoms are severe, immediate medical treatment should be sought. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of reach of children.
