How to take

Adult dose

In adults, initiate treatment with naftopidil at 25mg once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and administer orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms, but the maximum daily dose is 75mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to any of its components. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution should be exercised in patients with impaired liver function as this medication may increase blood concentration. Patients with severe heart or cerebrovascular problems, the elderly, and those taking certain antihypertensive drugs should also be administered with caution. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, and hypotension may occur, especially when first taking it or suddenly increasing the dose. Care should be taken to avoid overdose as there is a risk of significant blood pressure drop, and blood pressure changes should be closely monitored when changing positions if orthostatic hypotension symptoms are present. There might be dizziness while driving or performing dangerous tasks, so caution is advised. Before taking this medication, check if you are currently taking antihypertensive agents, and if blood pressure drops too low, consult a physician to adjust the medication dosage. This medication is a treatment to relieve symptoms, so if it is ineffective, other treatment methods such as surgery should be considered. Also, taking diuretics or antihypertensive agents together may further lower blood pressure, so caution is necessary, and when combined with certain erectile dysfunction medications, blood pressure may drop significantly. The elderly should be carefully monitored since drug excretion may be delayed due to decreased liver function. This medication should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children and taken after being removed from the packaging. Swallowing while still in the packaging can cause injuries to the esophageal mucosa, which is dangerous. Finally, patients who have previously taken similar medications may experience issues such as intraoperative iris hypotension syndrome, so it is important to inform healthcare providers.
