This medication is used for the treatment of myocardial ischemia due to hypertension, stable angina, and variant angina. Additionally, it reduces the risk of hospitalization due to angina in patients with confirmed coronary artery disease who have no heart failure and a cardiac output of more than 40%. It also helps reduce the risks associated with coronary artery interventions, contributing to cardiovascular disease management. This drug is effectively used for both the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

Additionally, pregnant women, patients with severe liver dysfunction, severe aortic stenosis, and those in a state of shock should also refrain from using this medication. Patients with very low blood pressure, those requiring kidney dialysis, elderly individuals, pregnant women, or those who may become pregnant should use this medication with caution. Possible side effects during the use of this medication include flushing, fatigue, edema, palpitations, dizziness, headaches, drowsiness, abdominal pain, and nausea. Patients with heart failure may experience symptoms of pulmonary congestion when using this medication, thus caution is warranted. Patients with impaired liver function may require dose adjustments due to prolonged action time of this medication. Also, since the effects of this medication appear slowly, it is not suitable for urgent situations such as acute angina. This medication may interact with several other medications, so if other medications are being taken, it is essential to inform a doctor or pharmacist. In particular, it is advisable to avoid taking it with grapefruit juice as it may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect. Pregnant women should consult a doctor before using this medication, and breastfeeding women are advised to discontinue breastfeeding while taking it. In children, it is recommended for use only in those aged 6 years and older, as safety and efficacy in those under 6 years have not been established.
