This medication helps improve symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. It reduces the size of the enlarged prostate, which facilitates urinary flow and decreases the frequency of acute urination issues such as acute urinary retention. It is also effective in reducing the need for transurethral resection of the prostate or other prostate surgeries. Through these actions, it enhances the patient's urinary convenience and improves prostate health.

How to take

Adult dose

For finasteride, take 5 mg once daily orally with or without food. A minimum treatment of 6 months is needed, even if symptoms improve during use.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in children or women. In particular, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should be cautious not to handle broken or crushed pieces of this medicine, as it is coated and does not normally come into contact with its components when handled properly. Depression or mood swings may occur during the use of this medication, so if these symptoms arise, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional. Individuals allergic to this medication or its components, or those with lactose intolerance, soybean oil, soy, or peanut allergies should not take it.
