Precautions

This medication is a lipid-lowering agent and can rarely cause serious muscle damage when taken with fibrate or statin medications. If symptoms such as muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness occur, consult a doctor immediately. It is especially important for elderly patients, women, and those with renal impairment to be tested for muscle damage before taking this medication. This drug should not be administered to those with certain liver diseases, gallbladder diseases, severe renal impairment, pregnant women, or children under 18 years of age. Patients with impaired liver function or heavy alcohol consumption should undergo regular liver function tests while taking this medication and should discontinue it if any signs of hepatitis occur. This medication can cause rare side effects such as pancreatitis, interstitial lung disease, and thrombosis; therefore, immediate reporting to healthcare professionals is necessary if related symptoms arise. Diabetic patients who require blood sugar control should regularly monitor their blood glucose levels, as dizziness may occur during medication, necessitating caution while driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other lipid-lowering agents, anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, etc., so inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking. There is no specific antidote in cases of overdose; if suspected, immediately seek appropriate treatment from a medical institution.
