This drug is used for heart-related diseases such as stable angina due to hypertension and chronic occlusion of the coronary arteries, as well as variant angina caused by vascular spasms. These conditions can lead to myocardial ischemia due to inadequate blood supply to the heart, and this medication helps improve that.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken with a sufficient amount of water. Administer 2.5 mg orally once daily as escitalopram, and the dose may be increased up to a maximum of 5 mg daily depending on the patient's response. Adjust as appropriate based on symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to those with allergies to this drug or similar ingredients, pregnant or nursing women, patients in severe shock, patients with severe heart valve issues, patients with unstable angina, patients who have recently suffered a myocardial infarction, patients with severe liver dysfunction or hypotension, and patients with genetic disorders related to lactose. Careful administration is advised for patients with severe kidney dysfunction, the elderly, patients with acute heart failure, patients in hypertensive crisis, and patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction. This medication should not be suddenly discontinued as it may worsen symptoms. Consult a doctor before stopping, and dosage should be reduced slowly if necessary. Take this medication with plenty of water, and be cautious while driving or operating dangerous machinery, as low blood pressure may lead to dizziness or fatigue.
