View approved original text

This medication is primarily used for the treatment of male pattern baldness, specifically androgenetic alopecia, in adult men, particularly those between the ages of 18 and 41. Male pattern baldness occurs due to genetic factors and the influence of male hormones, and this medication helps to slow down hair loss progression and promote hair growth, thus improving the symptoms of hair loss. With consistent use, it aids in healthier hair growth, thereby reducing stress related to hair loss and contributing to the restoration of confidence. It is used as an effective drug for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by pediatric patients or women. In particular, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should avoid even touching broken pieces of this medication. This drug works by inhibiting the conversion of certain male hormones, and exposure to pregnant women may lead to abnormal development of the external genitalia in male fetuses. It can also affect mental health, possibly leading to depression or mood changes, so if these symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Patients with impaired liver function or those with disorders of lipid metabolism such as hyperlipidemia or diabetes should use this medication with caution. During treatment, sexual dysfunction such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and ejaculation disorders may occur, and these symptoms generally resolve after discontinuation of the medication. Additionally, individuals allergic to lactose, soybean oil, beans, peanuts, etc., should not take this drug. If changes such as breast lumps, pain, or nipple discharge occur during use, immediate notification to a doctor is essential, and caution is needed when interpreting PSA test results. This medication has relatively few interactions with other drugs, but it is advisable to consult with a doctor or pharmacist if any other medications are being taken. There is no specific antidote for overdosing, but it has been used safely within a relatively safe dosage range in clinical trials. Store this medication in a closed container away from children and do not transfer it to another container. This drug can be used in the elderly without dose adjustment; however, efficacy in the elderly has not been sufficiently studied.
