This medication is used to treat painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders and spastic paralysis caused by neurological conditions. Specifically, it is effective for conditions such as shoulder pain and stiffness caused by shoulder impingement syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It also helps improve spastic paralysis symptoms arising from various neurological disorders such as cerebrovascular disease, cerebral palsy, and spinal cord injuries. It can also be used for neurological problems resulting from post-surgery or post-trauma sequelae. Due to its efficacy, it contributes to the recovery of motor function and pain relief for patients. Therefore, this medication is widely used for treating musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or who suffer from myasthenia gravis should not take it. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with genetic problems that prevent lactose digestion. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with a history of drug allergies or poor liver function. Close monitoring is required in cases of liver impairment, as liver function may worsen. Rarely, shock reactions may occur during the intake of this medication, so symptoms should be carefully monitored, and if any abnormal symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment sought. There may also be cases of elevated liver enzymes, so regular liver function tests are recommended. Renal function abnormalities or blood issues such as anemia may also occur rarely, so careful observation is necessary. Various neurological side effects such as skin rash, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, and numbness of the limbs may occur. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, and abdominal pain, and urinary elimination problems have been reported rarely. Systemically, weakness, dizziness, and reduced muscle tone may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, consultation with healthcare providers is recommended. In particular, symptoms of severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may appear, so if symptoms like fever, skin rashes, blisters, itching, eye redness, or stomatitis occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Caution is advised against driving or operating dangerous machinery during treatment due to possible drowsiness or decreased concentration. Additionally, when taken with other muscle relaxants, ocular accommodation disorders may occur, so caution should be exercised in such combinations. Women who are pregnant or potentially pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Nursing mothers should avoid this medication if possible; if it must be taken, discontinuation of breastfeeding is advisable. The safety in children has not been adequately established, so caution is necessary with use. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, so careful dosage adjustments and monitoring are needed.
