This medicine helps effectively lower and control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure control is insufficient with monotherapy using amlodipine or telmisartan. It is used to manage blood pressure steadily and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this drug is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it daily at the same time (e.g., in the morning). For patients with renal impairment, mild and moderate renal impairment do not require dosage adjustment, but those with severe renal impairment should start treatment at a lower dose and increase gradually. For patients with liver impairment, the daily dose should not exceed 40 mg.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This drug should not be used in patients with certain conditions, such as severely impaired liver function, heart valve disease, severe hypotension, cardiac shock, or unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction. Patients with primary aldosteronism, specific heart conditions, liver disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, renal artery hypertension, dialysis patients, and the elderly should use this drug with caution. Dizziness and peripheral edema are common side effects of this drug. Rarely, fainting or severe adverse reactions may occur, so immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is advised if symptoms are severe. This drug should not be taken during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, use should be stopped immediately, and alternative treatment should be sought. It is also safe for breastfeeding women not to take this drug. Safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been sufficiently established, and therefore use is not recommended. When administering to the elderly, dosage should be carefully adjusted, and it is recommended to start with a lower dose, especially in those over 75 years old. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and abnormal heart rate may occur; hence immediate medical attention should be sought. This drug may interact with other medications; therefore, it is essential to inform healthcare professionals if taking other drugs, particularly potassium supplements or diuretics. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. This drug contains sorbitol and is not advisable for patients with fructose intolerance. Store in a secure place out of reach of children, and it is best to take it immediately after opening.
