View approved original text

This medication is used to reduce elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia, particularly in type IV and type IIb patients. It is effective on its own for type IV hypertriglyceridemia and can be used in combination with statins to manage type IIb hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia more effectively. It is especially helpful for patients whose triglyceride levels are not controlled when used with statins, improving blood lipid levels. This medication is also utilized as an adjunct to dietary therapy to maintain healthy blood lipid status. Therefore, this medication effectively lowers blood triglyceride levels, helping to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
