This medication effectively lowers blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil.

How to take

Adult dose

This drug is administered 1 tablet once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning) if possible. The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20 milligrams: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine 5 milligrams or olmesartan medoxomil 20 milligrams. - 10/20 milligrams: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with olmesartan medoxomil 20 milligrams.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age.

Precautions

This drug may cause serious harm to the fetus and neonates if taken during the second and third trimester of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Those who have allergies to the active ingredients or similar substances, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have severe liver disorders or aortic stenosis, or are patients with biliary obstruction, undergoing kidney dialysis, in a state of shock, or certain diabetic patients should not take this medication. Patients with hypotension due to lack of fluid or salt, patients with vasodilation, those with severe obstructive coronary artery disease, patients with congestive heart failure, and those with impaired kidney or liver function should use this drug cautiously and under a doctor's supervision. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, dyspepsia, and rash may occur during treatment; if symptoms are severe, consult a physician. This drug may interact with certain other medications, so you must inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant are advised to choose a safer alternative therapy instead of this drug, and to stop taking it immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. If breastfeeding, consult a physician regarding whether to continue nursing or discontinue the medication, as this drug may be passed into breast milk. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 18, so it is not recommended. Elderly patients may have decreased kidney or liver function; starting with a lower dose and careful monitoring is necessary. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension or vasodilation may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. This drug should be stored in a place protected from direct sunlight and moisture, out of reach of children.

  • Severe rash accompanied by high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, severe skin adverse reactions
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice)
  • Sudden and severe headache, seizure, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, serious neurological symptoms
  • Significantly reduced urine output, severe swelling throughout body.
