This medication is prescribed for patients who need to take a combination of two drugs, amlodipine and atorvastatin. Amlodipine is used to improve problems related to myocardial ischemia, such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, and angina, and reduces the risk of hospitalization for angina and revascularization in certain patients without heart failure. Atorvastatin lowers the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and revascularization in patients at high risk of coronary heart disease, and helps to control cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia or dyslipidemia. It also reduces cardiovascular risk in patients with type 2 diabetes and congestive heart failure, thereby improving overall cardiovascular health. The combination of these two medications plays a crucial role in lowering risk factors for cardiovascular disease and improving symptoms, effectively managing heart health.
