Precautions

This medicine should not be administered to certain patients. Patients who have allergies to this medicine or its ingredients, those who are taking atazanavir or rilpivirine, pregnant women, or nursing mothers should not use this medication. Patients with impaired liver function or elderly patients, and those with a history of drug allergies should use this medication cautiously, paying attention to adverse reactions during administration. This medication may cause allergic reactions such as skin rashes, itching, and hives; if these symptoms occur, you should immediately stop taking the medication. Since blood tests may show changes in red or white blood cell counts, it is advisable to have regular blood tests, and if any abnormality is found, the use of the medication should be stopped. Liver function tests should also be performed regularly, and as serious liver issues such as hepatitis or jaundice may occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary if symptoms appear. It may affect the heart and blood vessels, potentially leading to symptoms such as hypertension, myocardial infarction, or arrhythmia, requiring caution. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting; in severe cases, gastrointestinal bleeding or pancreatitis may occur. Neurological symptoms may include headache, insomnia, anxiety, dizziness, and drowsiness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Respiratory symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, or asthma may occur, and rarely, serious lung diseases may develop, so you should inform your healthcare provider if such symptoms arise. Musculoskeletal and skin-related changes have also been reported, such as myalgia, arthralgia, skin rash, hair loss, and dry skin. Ocular adverse effects may include blurred vision, tinnitus, or cataracts, necessitating examination if vision changes occur. Urological symptoms have been reported, including dysuria, hematuria, or kidney stones; caution is necessary as these may progress to impaired kidney function. Long-term use of this medication may increase the risk of osteoporosis and fractures, so regular examinations are required for those taking it for more than a year. Chronic use may lead to hypomagnesemia, necessitating periodic checks on magnesium levels and supplementation if necessary. This medication strongly suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract; if diarrhea persists, consult your healthcare provider. Caution is advised while driving or operating machinery as symptoms such as drowsiness may occur. There may be interactions with other medications, especially when taken with warfarin, methotrexate, antifungals, and certain antivirals, so discuss with your healthcare provider if using these together. Pregnant or nursing women should not use this medicine, and if there is a possibility of pregnancy, consultation with a healthcare provider is mandatory before taking it. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions due to impaired liver function, so symptoms should be carefully monitored during usage. Safety for pediatric use has not been established, so it is advisable not to use this medication in children. There is no specific antidote for overdose, so symptomatic treatment and supportive care are needed, and the tablets should be swallowed whole without chewing or crushing.
