Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. First, it should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or any of its components. Patients with orthostatic hypotension, where blood pressure drops suddenly, may also experience worsening symptoms if taking this medication. Patients with significantly poor liver function should not take this medication, as it can accumulate excessively in the body and cause side effects. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should not take this medication. Additionally, caution is advised when administering this drug to some patients. Patients with severely impaired kidney function may accumulate the drug in their bodies, so care is needed. Elderly individuals should start at a lower dose from the beginning and be monitored for their condition. Patients taking certain antihypertensives, PDE5 inhibitors, or CYP3A4 inhibitors should be careful, as they may have an increased risk of side effects due to drug interactions. In particular, patients taking other alpha-1 blockers or those with a history of syncope due to urination should generally not be treated with this medication but should use it cautiously if absolutely necessary. Taking this medication may cause various side effects such as dizziness, blood pressure drops, increased heart rate, gastrointestinal discomfort, and allergic reactions. In severe cases, syncope or loss of consciousness may occur, so if unusual symptoms appear, the patient should immediately inform a doctor and discontinue use. Additionally, rare but serious side effects such as priapism have also been reported, so this should also be noted. This medication can lower blood pressure, so care should be taken to avoid overdose, and especially when standing up, blood pressure may drop suddenly, leading to dizziness, so it is advisable to move slowly. This medication is a treatment method to relieve symptoms, and if it proves ineffective, surgical or other treatment options should be considered. When taking this medication, care should be taken when performing dangerous activities such as working at heights or driving, and the tablets should not be chewed or capsules opened. Moreover, the packaging condition should be checked to ensure safe consumption of the medication, and it should be stored out of reach of children. For pregnant women and children under 18, it is advisable not to use this medication as its safety and efficacy have not been established. For the elderly, as kidney function may be impaired, it is necessary to start at a lower dose and monitor their condition during treatment. Lastly, before taking this medication, it is essential to confirm the absence of prostate cancer, and patients with allergies to sulfonamides need to exercise caution. There is also the possibility of drug interactions with other medications, so if the patient is taking any other drugs, they must inform their healthcare provider.
