This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension for whom adequate blood pressure control is difficult with either telmisartan or amlodipine monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with renal impairment, mild to moderate renal impairment does not require dosage adjustment, but severe renal impairment patients should start with a lower dose and gradually increase. For patients with liver impairment, the daily dose of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, so its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, and should not be used during pregnancy. This medication should not be used in individuals with an allergy to the active ingredients or similar compounds, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing mothers, individuals with severe liver disease or specific cardiac diseases, and patients with severe hypotension. This medication should be avoided during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued as soon as possible and substituted with another safe treatment. This medication lowers blood pressure, which may lead to hypotension; if hypotensive symptoms arise, lying down or, if necessary, fluid therapy may be required. There is a risk of increasing potassium levels in the blood, so care should be taken when using potassium supplements or consuming foods high in potassium, and regular blood tests are recommended. Patients with impaired kidney function should periodically test their kidney function and electrolyte levels while taking this medication.
