View approved original text

This medication is used to effectively control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. It also helps reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and death from cardiovascular diseases in patients over 55 years of age who are at high risk of cardiovascular disease, especially those with a history of coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, stroke, transient ischemic attack, or with high-risk diabetes leading to target organ damage. It serves as a well-tolerated alternative for patients who cannot use ACE inhibitors, improving cardiovascular health.
