Improvement of gastroesophageal reflux and gastrointestinal disorders (abdominal pain, indigestion), relief of irritable bowel syndrome, treatment of pediatric vomiting and gastrointestinal disorders
This medication is used to improve the symptoms of digestive disorders caused by gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and inflammation or ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, including abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting. It also alleviates bowel-related symptoms caused by irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is effective for treating habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal passage disorders such as constipation and diarrhea. Overall, it helps improve symptoms of various gastrointestinal-related conditions.
As Trimebutine Maleate, 100-200 mg is taken orally 3 times a day before meals. Adjust dose appropriately according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used by patients with genetic conditions that prevent lactose breakdown since it contains lactose. Taking this medication may rarely cause symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, abdominal gurgling, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, dry mouth, and a numb sensation in the mouth. Additionally, symptoms of palpitations may occur rarely. Neurological symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may also occur rarely. Increases in liver function test results have been reported rarely, so care should be taken regarding liver health. If any allergic reaction such as a rash occurs, the medication should be discontinued immediately. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not established, thus pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should take it only if the benefit outweighs the risk. Breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication unless absolutely necessary, in which case breastfeeding should be discontinued. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a tightly closed container away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place. Furthermore, to maintain the quality of the medication, do not transfer it to another container and prevent misuse or abuse.
