Candida vaginitis is an inflammatory disease of the vagina caused primarily by the fungus Candida. This condition can cause itching, increased discharge, and discomfort. This medication is used to relieve the symptoms of Candida vaginitis and treat the infection.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

100 mg: Generally, insert 100 mg of clotrimazole deeply into the vagina once daily at bedtime for 6 consecutive days. For short-term therapy, generally insert 200 mg of clotrimazole deeply into the vagina once daily at bedtime for 3 consecutive days. 200 mg: Generally, insert 200 mg of clotrimazole deeply into the vagina once daily at bedtime for 3 consecutive days. 500 mg: Generally, insert clotrimazole 500 mg deeply into the vagina once daily at bedtime.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to or have had hypersensitivity reactions to the active ingredient or any component of the formulation. During the use of this medication, it should not be taken with immunosuppressants such as oral Tacrolimus or Sirolimus, as this may increase the blood concentration and risk of side effects. Therefore, patients using this medication should carefully monitor their blood concentration under medical supervision. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. Although no significant issues were found in animal studies, caution should be exercised during early pregnancy due to an increased risk of spontaneous abortion.
