Precautions
This medication should not be used in patients with an allergy to this medication or its components. Many patients using this medication may experience adverse reactions such as eye redness, conjunctivitis, or blepharitis. Particularly, conjunctival hyperemia is commonly observed after instillation, and the frequency of allergic conjunctivitis or blepharitis may increase with prolonged use. If adverse reactions are severe or persistent, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. This medication can temporarily decrease corneal thickness, but this change is reversible. Patients who wear contact lenses should remove them prior to instillation due to potential discoloration from the preservative in this medication, and lenses can only be reinserted after a minimum of 15 minutes post-instillation. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, the administration of this medication should be carefully considered, and nursing women should avoid administration if possible or discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so caution is required when using this medication. This medication is for ocular use only, and during instillation, the eyelids should be held open in an upright position while the drop is instilled accurately into the conjunctival sac. After instillation, close the eye and apply pressure to the tear sac to prevent the medication from draining away. Take care to avoid contact between the tip of the container and the eyelids or eyelashes, and if using with other eye drops, maintain a minimum interval of 5 minutes between applications. When not in use, store out of reach of children, and any remaining solution should not be used after 4 weeks of opening. To prevent contamination, the solution must be kept in its original container and not transferred to other containers.
