This medication is used when blood pressure control is inadequate with monotherapy of either amlodipine or valsartan in patients with essential hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g. in the morning) when possible.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and its administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with a history of allergy to the active ingredients or drugs of a similar class, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe renal or hepatic dysfunction, and those with a history of certain cardiovascular diseases or angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels should improve their condition before taking this medication, and appropriate action should be taken immediately if symptoms of hypotension occur. Patients with high potassium levels should use caution when taking this medication with potassium supplements or other medications that may increase potassium levels, and potassium levels should be monitored regularly. Patients with impaired kidney function or kidney transplant patients, as well as those with a history of angioedema, require close monitoring by a physician when taking this medication. Patients after heart failure or myocardial infarction should have kidney function evaluated regularly, as this medication can cause side effects associated with worsening heart failure, requiring caution. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. Overdosage of this medication can lead to severe hypotension or heart-related problems, necessitating immediate medical attention. This medication may interact with other blood pressure medications or specific drugs, so it is essential to consult with a physician or pharmacist if taking other medications. Breastfeeding women should avoid this medication, and its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established in children under 18 years of age.
