Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Rarely, symptoms of shock such as nausea, cold extremities, and respiratory distress may occur, and if any such symptoms appear, administration should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment sought. Hypersensitive reactions can lead to cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, airway obstruction, rash, urticaria, and itching; therefore, if these symptoms occur, treatment should be stopped. Temporary stinging, irritation, discomfort, redness, itching, conjunctivitis, keratitis, ocular swelling, foreign body sensation, photophobia, vision changes, tearing, dryness, and pain may occur; rarely, serious corneal damage or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, requiring cessation of use. Hearing impairment or irritation symptoms may occasionally occur. This medication should be used only for the minimum necessary duration and with sensitivity testing to avoid the development of resistant bacteria. Long-term use can lead to excessive growth of fungi or non-susceptible bacteria, so long-term use should be avoided, and alternative treatments should be considered in the event of secondary infections. This medication has not been proven effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA); if MRSA infection is confirmed and symptoms do not improve, it should be substituted with another stronger anti-MRSA agent. In the elderly or when used with steroids, there is an increased risk of tendon inflammation or rupture; therefore, if pain or inflammation symptoms occur, use should be discontinued immediately. Its safety during pregnancy has not been established, and it should only be used when the benefits outweigh the risks. During breastfeeding, either nursing should be ceased or the medication should be discontinued. The safety and efficacy in infants under 1 year have not been confirmed, so its use is not recommended. This medication should be used only for ophthalmic purposes, ensuring that the tip of the container does not come into direct contact with the eye. To prevent contamination, it is advisable to avoid sharing. Store in a cool place, away from direct sunlight, and keep out of reach of children. To maintain quality, do not transfer to another container.
