This medication is effective for inflammatory joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, chronic polyarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps relieve pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis. It reduces painful swelling and inflammation after trauma or surgery, aiding in quick recovery. Additionally, it assists in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. Overall, it improves inflammation and pain, enhancing the quality of life for patients.

How to take

Adult dose

As dexibuprofen, take 300 mg at a time, 2 to 4 times daily orally. However, do not exceed 1,200 mg of dexibuprofen in one day.

Precautions

This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than 3 alcoholic drinks daily, as there is a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, so caution is necessary for patients at risk of heart disease or stroke, and immediate medical consultation is required if cardiovascular symptoms appear. Significant gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation can occur; thus, elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal problems should take it more cautiously. Patients with gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe blood, or liver and kidney diseases, heart failure, hypertension, or a history of asthma should not take this medication, and individuals with hypersensitivity should also avoid it. During use, it is advised to avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and high doses of methotrexate, as this increases the risk of side effects. During treatment, breastfeeding should be discontinued or medications should be ceased, and patients should be cautious when driving or operating machinery due to possible dizziness or fatigue. Individuals with blood abnormalities, liver and kidney disorders, hypertension, heart failure, allergy history, elderly patients, children, and pregnant women must consult a professional before use. If symptoms such as shock, blood abnormalities, gastrointestinal problems, skin rash, hypersensitivity, liver dysfunction, kidney problems, cardiovascular abnormalities, or neurological disturbances occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult a healthcare professional. This medication should be taken at the minimum effective dose for the shortest duration possible, and regular check-ups are needed with long-term use. Discontinue immediately if any abnormal symptoms arise. After the 20th week of pregnancy, there is a risk of fetal kidney dysfunction and oligohydramnios; therefore, it should be used at the minimum dose for a short term, and amniotic status should be regularly checked with long-term use. In cases of overdose, even if there are no symptoms, immediate medical treatment is required, and it should be kept out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and stored in a cool, dry place.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not use this medication in conjunction with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin. Corticosteroids, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants, baclofen, immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus), thrombolytics, ticlopidine, antiplatelet agents, potassium levels in the blood.
