This medication is used to improve gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting caused by esophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and inflammation or ulcers occurring in the stomach and duodenum. It also alleviates abdominal discomfort caused by irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is effective for treating symptoms of constipation or diarrhea due to habitual vomiting or non-infectious gastrointestinal discomfort. It helps with a wide range of gastrointestinal diseases, contributing to symptom relief and recovery for patients.
As Trimebutine Maleate, take 100-200 mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust as appropriate based on age and symptoms.
This medication may affect the gastrointestinal tract and can rarely cause symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, dry mouth, and oral numbness. Additionally, it can rarely cause symptoms such as a rapid heartbeat, so caution is required. It may also affect the nervous system, leading to rare symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headache. The medication may affect liver function, potentially increasing liver enzyme levels, so care should be taken for liver health. Moreover, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes may occur, so if such symptoms arise, discontinue the medication. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not well established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take it when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. It is advisable for breastfeeding women to avoid taking this medication, and if it must be taken, it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding.
