Precautions

This medication should not be injected directly into the conjunctiva or the anterior chamber of the eye. Serious allergic reactions may occur in patients receiving systemic quinolone medications containing the same component; therefore, administration should be discontinued immediately and emergency treatment sought if symptoms appear. It should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or in infants under 1 year of age. Pregnant or nursing women should use it cautiously under a doctor's supervision. During use, adverse reactions such as eye congestion, pain, itching, or dryness may occur, and rarely, symptoms like systemic fever or cough have been reported. In the case of suspected allergic reactions or serious side effects, discontinue use immediately and consult with medical personnel. During the treatment of infections, it should be used for the minimum duration necessary to prevent the development of resistant bacteria, and caution is advised as prolonged use may lead to other infections. Patients with bacterial conjunctivitis are advised to avoid wearing contact lenses. This medication should be used only for ocular instillation, and care should be taken to prevent the opening of the container from contacting the eye, hands, or other sources of contamination. If used with other eye drops, they should be administered at least 5 minutes apart, and any unused medication should be discarded immediately after opening. Keep out of reach of children, and store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. There is insufficient data on the effects of this medication on fetuses or newborns when administered to pregnant or nursing women, hence it should be used cautiously. The safety for infants under 1 year has not been established, so it is preferable not to use it. Special caution is not required for the elderly, but they should immediately inform medical personnel if any adverse reactions occur.
