Especially in patients with severely impaired kidney function, the risk of hypoglycemia may increase when used with insulin, and dose adjustment may be necessary. Use of this medication is limited in patients with heart failure, so it should be used cautiously, and patients should stop using the medication and consult a physician if symptoms such as abdominal pain occur, as acute pancreatitis may develop. Additionally, a rare skin condition called bullous pemphigoid has been reported, so if blisters or sores occur on the skin, medical professionals should be informed immediately and the medication should be discontinued. Patients should regularly check blood sugar levels during use, as hypoglycemic symptoms may occur, and consult medical professionals in case of abnormal symptoms. Pregnant women or nursing mothers are advised to avoid this medication as its safety has not been established. It is not recommended for children under 10 years of age, as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently validated. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney and liver function can use it without special dose adjustments, but regular monitoring is necessary. In case of overdose, it is important to remove any unabsorbed medication from the gastrointestinal tract and observe symptoms while receiving necessary treatment.
