Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication helps effectively control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone in the initial treatment, and if adequate blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy, it can be taken in combination with metformin. Additionally, when blood sugar control is poor with metformin or sulfonylureas, this medication can be used in combination to better manage blood sugar levels. It can be combined with insulin therapy or in cases where it is difficult to control levels even with combination therapy of sulfonylureas and metformin, thereby enhancing treatment effects. This medication is used to improve blood sugar control in conjunction with various diabetes treatments.
The recommended dosage is 5 mg once daily. It can be administered regardless of meals.
This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to its active ingredient or other components. It should not be administered to patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution is needed when used with insulin or sulfonylureas that can cause hypoglycemia, as the risk of hypoglycemia may increase, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. The use of this medication is not recommended in patients with heart failure, especially those with severe heart failure, and caution should be exercised in mild heart failure patients. Acute pancreatitis may occur, so if severe abdominal pain or other symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor should be consulted. Skin disorders such as bullous pemphigoid may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought if blisters or skin breakdown develop. If joint pain worsens or is accompanied by disability during use of this medication, discontinuation should be considered. The use of this medication is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it is advisable to consult with a healthcare provider. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established; therefore, it is not recommended for children. There is no need for specific dosage adjustments in the elderly; however, it can be administered to patients with reduced renal or liver function without dose modification. In case of overdose, remove any unabsorbed medication from the gastrointestinal tract and observe symptoms, and obtain appropriate treatment if necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may pose risks of accidents and quality deterioration, so caution should be exercised.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is best to maintain the storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature.
