Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Rarely, shock symptoms such as nausea, limb coldness, and difficulty breathing may occur, and if such symptoms appear, use should be discontinued immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Additionally, symptoms of hypersensitivity such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, airway obstruction, difficulty breathing, rash, urticaria, itching, redness, and swelling around the eyes may occur, and in these cases, use should also be discontinued. Transient burning or irritation, discomfort, pain, redness, itching, dryness, blurred vision, tearing, and dizziness may occur in the eyes, and rarely severe corneal damage or serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur; if these symptoms appear, use should be discontinued immediately. Auditory disabilities or irritating symptoms have also been reported occasionally, so caution is needed. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, sensitivity testing should be performed, and it should only be used for the minimum necessary duration, avoiding long-term use. With prolonged use, fungi or non-susceptible bacteria can proliferate excessively; if a secondary infection is suspected, treatment should be changed to another method. Particularly during trachoma treatment, the standard treatment period of 8 weeks should be adhered to, and any additional dosing should be carefully decided thereafter. During treatment, avoid wearing soft contact lenses, and take care not to let the tip of the container touch the eye when instilling. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and shared use should be avoided to prevent contamination. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should be administered the medication only when necessary, and breastfeeding should be discontinued or the medication should be stopped during lactation. Safety and efficacy have not been established in infants under 1 year of age, and its use is not recommended in this age group. During storage, keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed container. Additionally, to prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the drug, it should not be transferred to another container.
