The combination therapy of Amlodipine and Olmesartan Medoxomil is used for patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with standard treatment. This drug combination helps to dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure, thus reducing cardiovascular burden. It contributes to proper blood pressure management and decreasing the risk of complications.

How to take

Adult dose

Take one tablet once daily, with or without food. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). The maximum dose is Amlodipine/Olmesartan Medoxomil/Hydrochlorothiazide 10/40/25mg. Based on blood pressure response, dosage adjustments should occur at intervals of more than 2 weeks. For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, the maximum dose is 1 daily dose of 20/5/12.5mg.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or its components, pregnant or nursing women, patients with severe hypotension, heart diseases, or significant kidney or liver dysfunction should not take this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume or low sodium may experience hypotension, so their condition should be carefully checked before taking this medication, and immediate action should be taken if symptoms of hypotension occur. Patients with impaired kidney function or those who have received a kidney transplant should frequently check kidney function and electrolyte levels through blood tests, and in severe cases, the use of this drug is not recommended. Patients with liver dysfunction or certain heart diseases should also exercise caution, and those with primary aldosteronism may experience reduced effectiveness. This drug may cause photosensitivity reactions; therefore, care should be taken to avoid exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light, and if skin reactions occur, usage should be stopped immediately. During the use of this drug, blood pressure may drop too low, causing dizziness or drowsiness; it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. This drug may interact with a variety of other medications; therefore, if you are taking other drugs, consult your doctor or pharmacist. The use of this drug during breastfeeding is not recommended, and it should not be administered to children as its safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, severe hypotension and cardiac function abnormalities may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin exfoliation, pain of mucous membranes in mouth/eyes, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attacks, respiratory distress accompanied by cough + fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, lightning headache, seizures, confusion, vision abnormalities, paralysis, urination disturbances
